how do i cure my manic indicator

Featured Replies

Every now and again my left indicator on my 1989 vw golf goes manic when i select it, it flashes in double quick time.

Why does it only do it intermittently, and how can i fix it :o

Thanks for any help or enlightenment :)

Either a loose bulb or faulty flasher unit

Check a bulb hasn't blown

It's possible the fog light bulb has blown - I had the same problem with my Punto.

Agree with the loose or faulty bulb explanation myself.

If one comes loose then the relay makes the others flash twice as fast.

... or a partially fractured wire...

I had the flasher unit on my Octy RS replaced under warranty - known fault apparently. If it's an intermittant fault, I would have thought flasher unit rather than bulb problem.
