I am also looking at getting an up rated down pipe so it will be a turbo back system ( poss putting the ss sports cat back on depending on the power gane if any)

Marko

Ah yeah, it will never really sound the same on a video as it does beside it. If you haven't uprated your downpipe already definitely do that before the rr. the standard one is a very sharp funnel shape right at the turbo so it is ****ing against the wind a bit to upgrade the rest without it. Hopefully that will give you a nice throaty sound too. Even just the decat on mine with the rest standard made a difference. for me it made a noticeable increase in low down torque, will climb steep hills now at 1500rpm that I would have had to change down at before.

Highly recommended.

I hate to say it but some ppl were right i DID get pulled and the cops were very nice and understanding, so i only got a 21 day notice, so now iv got the sports cat back on and it is much less in your face, think i will save the de-cat for the track and rr days.

Sound clip to follow.

You won't get on tracks with that exhaust anyway !!

I still don't understand a decat...surely high flow or sports ones are much more sensible on a street car. oh and less illegal. :giggle:

We race at knockhill and that don't test the noice level.

A full De-cat will give a higher bhp increase (in theory), but yes for road cars it is illegal-ish lol

Yeah, I think the constant nagging at the back of my mind would make me enjoy the car less  Thats just me though

i am pretty sure it is illegal/an offence to run a car designed with a cat (post 92 ish) without, its an mot fail, and a vosa check fail, way too many vosa checkpoints where i live (next to and across dartford bridge/tunnel) to make it worth doing, there are often vosa spot checks here.

I personally would say a decat is only any good on a large engine. Smaller ones dont push out as much gas and 200 / 100 cel cats breath pritty damn well and pass mot. For the sake of 1 / 2 / 3 bhp its not worth the risk imo.

its more like 8 to 10 bhp increes with the de-cat, i will confirm this soon on the RR, just hope my car makes it with all the **** happaning.

Yes it is illegal, and not for road use, but on a track its all good.

wen i got pulled the de-cat wasnt a prob just the very loud noice cumming from it lol

Reminds me of when my exhaust popped off at the decat. Sounded awesomely bad! But was a laugh when you were inside the car. Couldn't live with it. I love just cruising quietly then having the exhaust rasp when you but the beans in. So much nicer.
