Hehe i wouldnt mind hearing this..... I think josh has this set up on his "furrys ex octy"

He may have a cat tho

So has this just got a ss tube pretty much from the turbo then :D

It goes : Turbo flex pipe then straight threw 2.5' SS to std style tail pipe.

I will get a sound clip up asap.

I like the look of this!

is it actually very loud? as in boy racer loud?

I'm never one for a car making too much noise but anyone that ever drives mine always comments on how it doesn't feel as fast because it is so quiet and makes no fuss. Be nice to hear a little more of what's going on.

Hehe :D

It Is rally loud and pops and bangs like crazy, sounds a bit like anti lag ( i just tell the ned's it is lol), but when you drive it normally its ok, i will get a sound clip up asap.

this is it before it went to free flow with the cat on and my dodgey back box delete.

Sounds terrible IMO.

I'm not gone on it at all. Probably sounded very good when driving hard but the idle would get to me.

How is it different to that now with no cat and straight through pipe?

IMO you've ruined the sleeper effect of the octy drawing the sort of attention that chavs get with a cherry bomb not for me .... Just being honest

Your probably loosing power aswell the boxes are there for a reason and without them it will alter the pulses, the engine needs some back pressure surely? Getting exhaust away from the engine with as little resistance as possible does increase power but the length and diameter are all configured by the manfacturer so if you mod it improperly i.e. just guess at the diameter and no chambers then you probably nerfed any advantage of going bigger and straight through. i once had a decat and straight through pipe that i did myself on a cliosport and it was loud and to start with like you i loved the pops and bangs but after a 1000 mile+ round trip to the nurburgring its soon grates on you and everyone else who is unlucky enough to be in the convoy with you. Once i got back i put a sports cat on and a KTEC racing stealth exhaust that had no visible tailpipe and had carefully thought out boxes to help keep the noise down but power up, It was a massive improvement.

Sorry like others , not in favour of no silencer. There is too much drone rather than a nice crisp low tone that a good decat and none resonated center section and box box delivers.

Maybe it is your video sound clip. As I am not too keen on the video clips of mine but sounds great in the flesh

Sounds like a diesel, and I bet on the rollers in running less power than before.

Thats stupidly loud, and will just draw attention to yourself. Net result, you could be a section 59 from the local police. Get two of those and you lose the car as it will be seized, and you have no recourse to get the car back.

I was under the impression that 1.8ts like no back pressure. I could be wrong but I thought the turbo gave all the backpressure needed obviously apart from overrun which is maybe why they pop so much.

I didn't think it would be that loud, especially with the cat still in.

All about experimenting so fair play for trying it to see, hopefully you don't get any unwanted attention.

if you had a mad powerful engine then you could possible get away with it but your going to look like a civic lol loads of noise and no go

Hahahahahahahahaha.

So Glad your not my neighbour!

Sounds proper poo. Needs a back box on that to deepen the sound. And another 100bhp.

Saxo/clio/corsa halfords styli

Hope you dont get pulled.

Too noisy

Decat

Prob void ins?

Least if your gonna decat the car make it so it dunt stand out and encourage the rozers to look deeper as i do believe its a poorly bird to remove the cat from a car thats sposed to have one?

10/10 for tryimg something new and individual tho.

No cat does indeed now mean instant MOT failure, and roadside inspection failure for spark ignition cars regardless of if the car can pass an emissions test or not. Which the vRS will definitely fail, since it barely passes with a 100 CEL cat.

If the car is louder now than those videos, god help your neighbours and fellow town folk, and you'll surely get pulled eventually. I mean why draw attention to yourself, they stop you for the loud exhaust and will then go over the car with a fine tooth comb. You could have a prohibition notice slapped on it, and that marker will stay with the car for life leading to endlessly being stopped.

it does say BEFORE free flow,so when running cat and no backbox

My IHI turbo'd 325bhp Vrs used to run a straight threw system with just a 100 cell race cat, sounded like a plane taking off on full 1.6 bar of boost.

I loved it, was pritty normal on idle and when not on boost, then all hell broke loose when on boost! :D

Turbo'd Vags just arent very loud with straight exhaust systems ive found.

Right......

It isnt as loud now, i took that vid next to my garage and it was echoing as its an inclosed space ( in the vid it HAS the cat on and NO box's), it was rr @ 194.6 bhp with 235 foot pound tork with the ss cat on and my **** back box delete, i then got a full 2.5' system with the ss de-cat from free flow, on idle it dose sound a bit rough but when drivin it sound fine and when on full chap it sound amazing (imo), im going to get it on the rr soon to see the diff if any.

I will get a Vid up this weekend and you can all hear it and then leave your thoughts..........AGGEN LOL
