  • Lee (the Skoda one) , in light of the fact that I am a bit mad and have a Yeti plate I think Skoda should subsidise my upgrade... for publicity and photo purposes you understand.

  • As an owner of an Elegance with nearly every optional extra... F***!

  • I am a big fan of the Annapurnas and the Matterhorns.

Don't really see how it differs massively from the elegance based on what they've stated.

I think it's got different seat stiching, the alloys have a bit of black to show the silver spokes better and some of the options are now included.

So it's like an Elegance, with a few minor tweaks.

As mine is an Elegance with most of the options added I doubt there is much difference, although to be honest I wouldn't change up when the facelift in only maybe a year away.

I'd want to see what that looks like first.

It is nice to see that they have decided to make one with a bit more of a premium image though.

To my eye, it's horribly over-wheeled. My grandsons have push-along cars that look like that. The circular equivalent of speed-stripes, and quite alien to the workmanlike shape of the body.

Just my opinion.

I am not a fan of any of the skoda wheels really. I wonder if the Yeti would be improved by something along the lines of the old Minilites? A bit more workman-like to match the rest of the vehicle. Or that just me showing my age?

Sorry for the quickie Photoshop...

I've always thought the same way, Nick.

Like the photoshop, Weasley.

I am a big fan of the Annapurnas and the Matterhorns. :)

My suspicion, based on what appears to have happened to the Octavia, is that they will use this model as a reason to strip bits off the elegance and keep the price the same.

It amazed me how little comes as standard on the Octavia "model" v's the equivalent Yeti "model" when compared.

L&K no use to me either ;)

With rims like that the poor monster looks like it's wearing these on her feet;

...or perhaps a set of these?

I think this photo has been photoshopped. You do not get 18" Annapurnas NOR is that mentioned in the spec.

Just compare the space above the rear wheels and the arches with a real one:

Good work Weasley. Now we need to wait for someone to do it for real!

Everyone has an opinion, but I think it looks great on those rims and what looks like lowered suspension, although it does not mention that in the link. World would be a pretty boring place if we all liked the same things.

Yep, I agree it looks pretty good to me

My two-penn'orth... it does look over-wheeled. Imagine the ride quality?!

I've looked at whether any of the Minilight types are available.

TechDel/Minilight themselves would do a set but wanted nearly £750 each wheel!!

Supalight Cheltenham (used to be in Kington, Herefordshire) used to do an excellent copy and were able to drill and machine as required but I can't find them now.

I know there is a motorsport wheel company in Wolverhampton, but they don't seem to advertise now.

I'm not sure the image has been shopped.

It's a optical illusion created by the style of the rims.

The dark area between the spokes does highlight the length of the diamond cut spokes which go right down to touch the rubber, it makes them look longer.

So true, so true

Thanks for the search Graham.

I have seen similar ones on US fora, but somehow they look slightly "off".

There was quite a famous video clip of a works twink completing a forest stage having lost a tyre. Incredible

When I first got to heft one at a racing car show at Horti Halls in '67 or '68, I couldn't believe how light they were. They had the actual wheel on the stand.

No problem.

I got to know the owner of Superlite, Henry Matty, when they were out in Kington, but he retired and moved the business to his daughter in Gloucester. They really are nice wheels and I wonder what a set would cost.

According to their price list Graham: £120 per wheel for 7x16 silver Classic (I assume plus VAT which takes 'em to £144), which doesn't seem at all bad.

I agree with Johann: photoshopped. The give-away is that the back wheel is as big as the front (in pixels, that is) but should be smaller as it is further away from the viewpoint. That is why the front wheel looks almost credible and the back does not. Like a pre-Renaissance painter, this guy has not quite got the hang of perspective.
