Brake dust

Featured Replies

Have noticed that my rear passenger wheel seems to acumulate brake dust about 10 times quicker than the other three. Still under extended manufacturer's warranty so not sure if it would count as wear and tear.

Can you see if the pads are worn? Jack it up and try to turn the wheel - i may be binding

All the disks and pads were replaced at the Start of September when I got the car. Only done 6,500 miles so will checkfor uneven wear but feels o.k under braking it's just the strange excess brake dust. Clean it off at least once a week but back again in a couple of days.

Check for continuous rubbing by touching the wheel hub on either side to see if the temperature feels equal after a drive (don't touch the disc itself, you might go OUCH!), if the nearside is much hotter, you've got rubbing.....

The car won't pull 'that much' even when one is sticking. Trust me, my Metro was friggin' awful in that regard and it had a problem with one of the callipers...

Definitely should be able to notice based on Leeboy's suggestion - the one that's sticking is gonna be pretty hot.

The extra dust definitely wants investigating
