Featured Replies

As the heading says, the new 2013 version of the Octavia is now showing in my latest update (no 478) of the ETKA parts catalogue. The cost for the new model is 5E-D

One thing I have just noticed, the accelerator pedal on the new Octavia in keeping with the new Audi A3 and the new Golf VII has gone back to be top rather than bottom pivoted. Personally I've always preferred the top pivot arrangement.

A possibly more interesting info from engine range pages:

220bhp 2.0l petrol top power engine, from May 2013, engine code CHHB

184bhp 2.0l diesel, 184bhp, from May 2013,engine code CUPA.

Both in either manual or auto box cars, no mention of 4x4 (yet? ever?)

So looks like Octy Mk3 vRS will be available somewhere in Europe from May :)

A little off-topic, but I also noticed electric aux heater is optional (7E6), Skoda UK, would you please make it optional on the entire car range or I'll return to importing my Skodas from Ireland where you can pick and mix any options you like. I dare not say make the aux electric heater a standard fit, mist free windscreen on a cold morning for everyone is after all an unnacceptable luxury , us muppets must suffer enough.

I mention this because I have just tried to fit that electric heater in the Roomster, and gave up as the damn thing would require taking apart most of dashboard to get enough clearance to remove heater cover. It seems this part of car is stacked from bottom to top at factory, with dashboard coming last. There used to be gap under the heater matrix cover that would have been enough to swap it , but now some ECU sits there mounted with very long bolts, so also not possible to remove. Service manual still thinks the gap is there :@

Interesting to note that the BHP gulf between diesel and petrol VRS models is to expand by 6bhp (170 --> 184 for diesel and 200 --> 220 for petrol).
