New update :-( The metal rod that comes out of the black cylinder thing in the pedal, is bent, on the clutch pedal currently in my car. The replacement pedal's metal rod is straight, but the cylinder thing is slightly cracked..The garage has told me they'll check for leaks on the new pedal's cylinder, and if it isnt leaking, put that part in..They also said, if this doesnt solve the issue then something else is at fault...What could this something else be ???

Thanks for all the help and replies :-)

Hating my octy atm :@ :-(

So theyve changed the master cylinder, and said that if the clip comes off, theres something wrong with the clutch or pressure plate. I drove the car and the clutch feels much lighter and the biting point is lower. However in traffic..and the clips comes off again!!! Call the AA and showed him the replacement part, which has a metal piece welded on instead of the clip, he assured me that the clip is at fault, as the garage have kept taking it off, it mustve have been weakened. I am going to replace my old pedal with the new one on Monday, please pray that this finally fixes the problem :'(

Replace the white clip in the end of the push rod too, as this doesn't come with the pedal, it's only a few pense and covers all the bases. This will be worn by now

Do it once do it right rings a bell.

New pedal, new clip job done right first time. Sometimes messing about with second hand parts just isnt worth it. Mind you the garage sound pretty unreliable.

Put in the second hand pedal, all seems fine now ^_^ Thanks all for the help :-)

I bet overall its cosed more than the 22 quid a new pedal clip combo would have cost. Glad your sorted though mate, you had a bad time with this

Lol yup! Paid £18 for the pedal..£35 for the labour..£38 for the slave cylinder..and then another £45 to fit the pedal.. :-(

just hope they transferred the shims for the pedal hole that the bolt goes through or itll start creaking soon.

Should be fine though not trying to scare you
