Mk2 steering wheel

Featured Replies

Is it just the like of Mk4 Golf, Bora etc steering wheels that will fit the Octavia?

Or would a wheel from a Mk2 fit? If not, what are the differences that prevent it?

I have a wheel from my old Mk2 Elegance that I'd be keen to put on my Mk1, to replace the standard plastic one.

I've no airbag though, so would rather get a definitive answer than simply trying the wheel in incase it fits but there's an airbag issue.

Cheers in advance.

I think your main issue will be the airbag and coding it.......

Found this thread by simply googling golf mk5 to golf mk4 as the Golf mk4 and Skoda MK1 steering wheels are interchangeable.

So I would say can be done and the guy in the thread seems to have fixed the airbag issue so go for it.

Thanks for that, looks relatively straight forward!

Had a look for Mk2 airbags on eBay there and they don't seem too common. However I looked at Mk4 Golf/Bora Sport wheels and they can be had for £30ish including airbag, so I might just go down that route to save any hassle with the loom.
