Hybrid Help

Featured Replies

Im running this kit on my polo. Ive had it on for about 7k now and it really is great. Admittedly i do have an uprated clutch and FMIC, but the turbo spools well and its really good fun. Ive been to two different rolling roads to see what it actually does and it made 224bhp/360lbft (at dynodaze) and after having the map tweaked slightly a much smoother 232bhp/330lbft (at noble motorsport).

I personally would recommend this kit to anyone thinking of going hybrid. Ive never driven a hybrid tdi so cant comment on the subtle differences but a big thing for me is that it smokes considerably less than any hybrid ive seen.

Day to day driving, its not too different to just a remap until you really stick your foot in it! It easily spins the fronts in 2nd (even with a diff), so i tend to jut get to 3rd early and just ride a wave of torque lol..

I was talking about the GTB thing in the link. My hybrid is well under 30psi & making the power no issues. Which is why I'm so suprised the larger turbo needs even more boost.

really? mine wasn't running well under 2bar of boost

Strange one

They don't. But to get the most from them they do but you need injectors as well.

I'm mapping a gt2260v (none gtb) for a friend. So far sticking with the 3bar MAP sensor and running around 1.8bar of boost which is more than enough to max the injectors.

Nothing wrong with a cleaner set up aka 230bhp or so with no smoke. I like that idea. But at what cost? If that is the only plus side next to the extra money needed I dont see it myself.

However any company, DSD, DTD whatever the name gets my respect for simply trying new things and get better, more power out of the engines we all use!

So thanks to all and keep it up!

put fmic on today and decat.. after a few mins of thrashing it goes into limp ? need another remap maybe?

Is it already mapped? Could be cutting into limp mode in order to protect the turbo from over spooling.

Drive with caution (ie don't thrash it) if you've fitted the decat after the vehicle is already mapped. As Dan says, the decat can cause the turbo to overspool on boost which could eventually lead to problems.

I say this with the benefit of hindsight; I found out the above is true on my old Fab, particularly when assisted by an unknown boost leak.

Decat can cause overboost. N75 map will need to be tweaked.

Log group 11 in VCDS to see for sure.
