Don't miss out on this Group Buy

Featured Replies

Recently I have missed out on a couple of bargains because I mainly stick to the Yeti Forum (YF). I missed a Group Buy (GB) for the Blackvue 'in car' Camea Recorders just before Christmas. I now note another GB is starting and am just making the Yeti Forum aware of this just in case if, like me, you don't venture further than the YF!

Yes I know the virtues of getting the whole experience of the Forums but as a Member of numerous other Forums I just don't have the time but applaud those that do. If you want to check out the Blackvue GB then click the link.

Have these units been shown to get good GPS reception in a Yeti with heated front windscreen? I have this trouble with a Roadhawk camera.

Heated screen in mine and the DR400 unit works fine. I have the camera mount immediately below the rear view mirror mount and it's ready for action within 20 45 seconds of turning on the ignition.

Edit: Slightly distorted sense of time when driving the Yeti - I've timed it now and it's pretty consistent.

Heated front screen in mine and it works perfectly.

Thanks both - I'll have to go for one!

Thanks for the heads up on the return of the GB - I nearly joined the last one but I missed it as it closed. After a bit of researching I decided to go for the one of the new Go Pro's instead. Good pricing if you want a Blackvue though! :)

Which GoPro did you go for Yeti_Man?

GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition - great spec and I have two mates with variations of this model and it suits my needs fully. :) Dont pick it up till March though! :( Been after something along these lines for well over 18 months so another month or so wont kill me. :)

I've got one too. :)

Preordered and got it just before Christmas.

Amazing they've halved the size and included so much. Currently the best of the GoPros.

Mind you, for £360(ish) retail price it needs to be very good.

I wouldn't leave it in the car like I do the blackvue though, it's too visable and pricey.

Ahhh, good to hear you have one! :) My main reason for wanting it is for Euro trip/off road day footage etc but im tempted to leave it in there permanently for insurance support in case of an accident tbh. Im picking mine up for around £220 so it was a no brainer! God love America!

You'll need to fit the charging cable all the time then (USB) as the battery lasts about two hours, which means cutting a hole in the waterproof case (or buying the skeleton case) plus you'll need to see if there is a way to do loop recording as I've not seen this on a GoPro yet. Not sure it's possible. Otherwise you'll need spare micro SD cards.

Only if you use it as a drive recorder of course.

All of the Hero 3 models do loop recording. :) I'll probably end up buying some of the accessories as well whilst im in the US - just seems like a great quaility bit of kit with accesories available to tailor its use to whatever is required. :)
