Couple of questions for Blackline owners

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Have ordered a Blackline DSG estate to replace our Fabia vRS estate and have a few questions: -

Does the car come with floor mats?

If so are they good quality (easy to hoover and clean mud off of)?

Bluetooth enabling - I get the general gist in that the Amundsen already has the bluetooth module it just doesnt have the microphone installed and isnt coded but could someone let me know exactly the part no required for the mic?

Also does the mic just clip into the quadlock connector or does it require cutting/splicing wires?

Finally the MFSW - Am I correct in suggesting that the wheel is the radio and phone wheel, it just isnt coded for use with phone or is it actually missing the phone button? I know on the Fabia when you spec the 60 quid wheel upgrade with the bluetooth the wheel is the same it just is coded to work with the bluetooth. Is it the same thing on the Octavia?

Much appreciated.

Yes it has floor mats as standard but the quality isnt too good mine worn at the heal quit quickly. As for the mic yes it does just plug straight into the quadlock conector. There is a how to topic on here some where.

Thanks for that. Was toying with asking the dealer to supply a boot mat but will get some rubber mats included as find them better than the skoda carpet ones.

RE Bluetooth not sure i'll bother just yet; not keen on taking it apart myself to fit the mic; will give it more thought when it arrives.

I like the mats, fit well, look nice.

I agree the new VRS floor mats that come as standard are poor in the drivers heel area.

I got some carpet mats thrown in for our Fabia, pile was very rough and plasticy, seemed to trap all the dirt and muck and very quickly looked bad even after a good hoover. Bought the rubber ones and they've been much better. Sure the vRS mats are more like the ones in the Golf with better quality pile but expect they'll still wear badly

Pre-bluetooth enablement:

MFSW has a phone button and there is wheel which is allows moving up and down the menu options in whatever area your are in i.e. scroll though music tracks in media or mfd functions. The phone button mutes the radio

Post-bluetooth enablement:

The phone button now takes you to the phone menu options in the maxidot (or subsequent presses will dial last number dialled). it will also answer the call. The wheel now (in addition to the other functions) will allow you to scroll through phone options such as phone book, last dialled etc in the maxidot.

This isn't dependant on the mic, but clearly pretty useless without it :-)

Guys thanks for your replies.

Think i'll get the rubber mats and keep the OEM ones fresh for as and when it gets sold on

I think the Bluetooth mod is great just a little miffed Skoda UK didnt go to the effort to have the factory enable it and install the mic. A real faux pas on their behalf I reckon.

It's my "how to" all the part numbers and actions required are in there, simple and straightforward to follow.
