Octavia 3 UK pricing and Availability

Featured Replies

Seen a few reviews of the Octy 3 in what appears to be race blue. Is this not reserved for the vRS anymore ?

I'd imagine there will be a new signature colour for the VRS when it arrives, in the same way the Mk2 Fabia VRS had the green.

  • Dear god.

  • Useless? You don't half talk some crap. So if you drive at nearly twice the UK speed limit you need to stop for fuel pretty often.... big whoop. That's only legal on certain bits of the Autobahn.

  • pretty sure if I left a petrol station with a full tank, I'd pass at least one other before the tank was empty, in which case I'd fill up again. I don't plan my fill ups with military precision, if it

The pics show Czech cars. The UK have kept race blue only for the vrs. Iirc its also only called race blue in the UK.

What determines whether an engine has a cambelt or chain? Quite a few manufacturers seem to use chains - BMW, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, any others?

Does a chain last the lifetime of the car? If it does surely that's the right option as it saves owners in service costs?

Mates Ford Kuga has a chain, as does my wife's Mercedes A Class.

The vRS Rally metallic green is available on a number of non vRS models in Germany. SWMBOS mother has a Fabia Scout in that colour. She made a fuss to get it and Skoda relented.

That looks great!

That looks great!

1.6CR 105, but she don't drive it quick enough :( (she's 81 :giggle: )

Might have a few more pics of it on an external HD somewhere, I'll see if I can dig 'em out.

Just had a look at the Toyota GT86, & it is priced directly at the expected Octy3 vRS, if i am going to pay £25K for a sporty car, this looks exceedingly good value for money - & its not even a hybrid :D

Touch and go SatNav looks good, I have a Garmin SatNav that does that, see a link on Google Maps (on your PC), right click and 'send to sat nav'. Turn on the SatNav and the waypoint is in there. And it's half the price of the Skoda Columbus.

I'd get the Subaru myself

Blimey! Will the vRs really be priced in that bracket? Just over a year ago my company vRS estate was priced at a smidge over List £22k. Can't see me getting a Mk3 with such an increase.

post-25521-13590514181383_thumb.jpg don't know if posted but UK colour palette is up. 4 blues FFS.

The headline RRPs are likely to make a lot of us wince. However, Skoda seem to be becoming like certain French manufacturers where the screen price is never near the one you actually pay given the VAT free and selected 25% offers have been going more or less none stop for the past 4 years now.

If it is the case that the likely new vRS will be over £20k then that would make it a pretty hard buy next to a new Focus ST for similar money (and in those circumstances I'd go ST even if I would miss the Octy boot!) - however if they run it with a 20% vat free offer then it becomes a possible purchase again (for me at least).

If it is going to be RRP well over £20k then it will be an ST regardless I think, although yes, I too have been looking longingly at GT86 / BRZ brochures recently

but the interior of an ST is horrendous!!!

it's like sitting inside an 80s electronics store.......

You think??? its far better than bland city aka Octavia interior...or even worse a Leon interior.

if these are the prices banding about then Focus ST estate for me...

But i'll be keeping my MK2 for a good while.

Time to post some opportunities for some slagging.

Having now seen the Octy3 vRS & the expected price, i will admit i do like it & would replace my current Diesel FL for an Octy 3 petrol, however the expected pricing ( without any offers) is looking just outside my price now, along with an expectation that it wont fit in the garage, i have been looking & thinking about alternatives.

I would really like to see the next Fabia vRS, but it looks like these engines will have only the TSi DSG, afraid as good as it is, it not an option for me as i havent reached the driving age to make it a necessity.

Have been looking at options & the only likely candidate is the new Pug 308GTi - depending on price - I know lots of people here slate French cars, but they are like all manufacturers some bad lots good, as one of my early cars was a Citroen BX17 Diesel which was a brilliant car.
