Netflix audio sync issues...

Featured Replies

I've been having a problem lately with Netflix whereby the audio is out of sync with the video, with the video lagging behind audio by around 0.5 - 2 seconds. I don't seem to get the problem (yet!) if I watch something on my PC (using Google Chrome) but if I access it through wifi on my home cinema system (LG BH7420P) then it seems to happen quite a lot. I sometimes watch on my iPod Touch too, and whereas it's usually OK on there, the other day it also started to suffer the same problem.

Does anyone else have the same issue? Did you manage to resolve it? It seems there are a bunch of pages online about this with some suggesting that pausing and/or rewinding a few seconds can re-sync the audio, but that doesn't seem to work for me.

I've had that issue on my old laptop, but not my new one, or the 360.

From what I could tell, netflix is decoded only by the CPU, so it could be the system is too loaded or something?

Mine used to work, then suddenly started getting the same issues as you and was maxing out the CPU.

Don't think that's your issue though as I'd be amazed if a HC system can't decode video properly!

Yeh I'd be seriously disappointed if it was due to the HC system not being up to the job! :wonder: Very much hoping it's not that! ;)

Plus it does seem to be intermittent - sometimes it's OK, other times it's not, which I'd have thought wouldn't have been the case if it was a general lack of CPU oomph.

From what I can tell from reading various stuff online, it looks like it's something I'm probably just going to have to live with as there doesn't seem to be a definitive reason for it happening and therefore no definitive fix. I live in hope though...!

WE got it from time to time when using the ps3. But only on some shows, ended up cancelling as gave up searching for stuff to watch.

Since then I've noticed some of the TV programmes are broken too, we're on virgin, so maybe bandwidth, contention issues are all a factor as well.
