Im trying to find new mats for my car but all the ones i seem to find online dont have the eyelets for the rear carpets. I dont think my car is special in anyway but is it common to have eyelets in the rear or are the mats im looking at the wrong ones? I have a 57 plate elegence.

My official vRS ones have eyelets in the rear mats. That's on a vRS of the same age as your Elegance so maybe official Skoda ones are the way to go?

I've just bought a set of rubber mats for my 56 plate Elegance. As I've got OCD when it comes to keeping my car clean, well according to the wife I have, I use these in the winter to save my normal mats getting covered in mud.

Like you, I looked on the Internet but I found that I could get a set from my local Skoda dealers (Alex Lawrie, Liverpool) for £27.00. These came complete with the eyelets to screw into the floor carpet and instructions on how to fit them. With the rubber mats, you have to cut out a small circle to facilitate this, however it's only a two minute job.

If it's carpet mats that you're after, then I can't help you with the price on those. However, I'd give your local dealer a ring, as they may not be as expensive as you think.

I have the rubber ones already as standard from skoda and they have eyelets in the rear. It's the carpets I'm after, may just go skoda but the non branded ones are £4 more than the ones with VRS on them! Not sure how the do the pricing!!

I got the factory carpet mats - the front have clips. The rears don't.

unlike the front, there r no lugs on the rear footwell floors.

The eyelets in the rear were removed some years ago as a cost saving measure.

The OEM rear mats without the eyelets have a rough underside that grips to the floor carpet, a bit like velcro.

Just looked and none of the ones they have for a 2004 onwards have eyelets in the rear.

Maybe best just to go skoda.
