Sunroof not working

Featured Replies

My sunroof has started to work intermittently. When it works, it works fine. Other times nothing happens at all. VCDS returns the following central convenience fault code "sliding roof short to ground". I've pulled the motor out and put it back in again with no change (sometimes it works, sometimes it does not). I notice there is a reasonably complicated pcb as part of the motor assembly, but before I go to the expense of a new (2nd hand) motor are there any other sensors I should check?

Thanks

Short to ground would surely suggest you've got a bare wire somewhere that is earthing to the chassis and causing it to not work?

Blackspaven - that is what I thought - examination of the motor assembly and its circuit board revealed nothing obvious. Before I crack out my multimeter I was wondering if anyone has had similar problem. The next thing to look at is the switch, but are there any other sensors to check?

Thanks
