Would you swap a 4x4 for a scout?

Thanks everyone for your feedback and opinions relating to this topic.

Silver101 I think you are correct replacing the 4x4 with a higher milage Scout would be a false economy. I least I know what problems I have got (And the cars...) So I think I stick with the 4x4...Will then replace it in a year or two when the belt needs replacing.

However, I guess I will need to look at a Superb then as the Octy III 4x4/Scout probably won't have a kerb weight heavy enough to tow my caravan 1438KG MIRO safely.

My 3.0 TDI allroad (A6) reaches the end of its 4 year PCP ( 1.1% no brainer) in May and I'm tempted to buy it and keep it for another year as it's under the contracted mileage and has returned a genuine brim-to-brim 40mpg on a 200+ mile trip. Keep in touch if that's of any interest to you. I specced it with a tow bar but have only ever towed motorbikes and an Erde 142 trailer neither of which you notice. In fact I got my Scout because I worry less about taking that to events where handlebars are whizzing past on forestry tracks. I did think a Superb Outdoor might be a good compromise, but the Elegance blows it out of the water on spec, cost and presumably residual value too, so like you - I'm not rushing to change anything just yet.
