Where could my power steering fluid be leaking from?

Featured Replies

As above....

Ive had issues with my power steering thinking it was alternator related but now found out my PAS fluid was completely dry

Topped it up now and working loads better, BUT obviously it will be leaking from somewhere as it should never go empty

Any help would be much appreciated

Jake

probably if you cant see it, it will be leaking from rack into the boots. new rack time possibly

have you used the red/pink steering fluid????

Is there any evidence of leaks of "something oily" any place you park regularly?

If not, then it may just be lack of previous checks.

My fluid is green. That's what was in the car and what the dealer sold me for a top-up. This in on the Cordoba BTW.

Mine was leaking a little from the boots on the rack. Only weeping really but means that it would ideally need replacing soon.

So i could potentially need a new rack?

Worst case scenario you need a new rack.

Could just be it's never been checked (perhaps due to it's location!).

Keep an eye out for any leaks. Look at the rack and the gaitors. Check the fluid again soon. Might be fine.

Aye that's why I mentioned it pink fluid kills these racks, can be a reason for leaking.
