Hi everyone

My name is Ben and I just signed up today! My brother was active here a few years back when he owned a Fabia VRS.

Hope you don't mind me pestering you all about my new (old) '94 Felicia 1.3 in the months ahead lol. I bought her back in October and she's been fine... until now. I'll post about this in a minute.

About my car history

1st car - Citroen dyane 6 (weekender) I loved that old girl because she introduced the first petrol into my veins. I was a student at the time living in Wales when a friend offered it to me. I had to collect it from Basel (Swiss / French border) then drive it home - this was quite an adventure for an teen age lad. It was in mint condition for its age (18). I kept this car for four years and she taught me about the basics of vehicle mechanics.

2nd car - VW polo 1.1 (My GF couldn't handle dyane's column shift so she had to go - the car I mean!). Only had it for 6 months when a Mondeo hit me head on in a 30 zone (witness statements confirmed his fault FWIW). Wrote his car off entirely but the lil' old polo suffered only a broken indicator lens! Tough little thing that polo was. This car taught me to check carefully when buying a 2nd hand motor. Within a week of owning it I had to fork out for a new head gasket! Got it roadworthy and sold it on.

3rd car - mk2 MX5 (1.6) I modified the hell out of this car. (supercharger, water injection, bigger injectors and an expensive exhau$t to name but a few of the upgrades I added). I still dream about this car and lost a lot of cash when it was written off. Some berk reversed a lorry into it and dented the A-frame. Insurance write off. This car taught me about torque curves, tuning and performance.. Jinba Ittai

4th car - Citroen C15D van (1992) I bought this as a stop gap after the mx5 but ended up keeping it for three years! She taught me all about brakes (lol). I tackled my first set of brake drums on this old girl and learned how to fit and flare brake pipe.

5th car - Skoda Felicia 1.3 LXi - love the car (though not the colour - maroon). Looks basic enough for me to repair and keep running but also quite comfy and surprisingly nippy for a 1.3. She has much to teach me I'm sure.

Anyhow just thought I'd introduce myself by saying hi.

Cheers

Ben
