Fabia VRS 2006- starting problem cam position sensor issue

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2006 Fabia VRS 1.9 Diesel all standard no modification. Problem is it has gotten worse and worse at starting over past 6 weeks. Code read and said cam position sensor so changed it. Problem went away for few weeks and has now come back. I ave change cam position sensor again under warranty in case it's faulty part also done timing, water pump and new EGR valve as had doubts over it as it was blocked rather than cleaning better to replace. All parts have been genuine Skoda parts. After doing all this work the starting problem still persists has anyone got any advice

Hi welcome. Were cam and crank locking tools used when replacing the water pump.Cam timing is a possible cause

Yes all done. The starting problem is the same now as before timing and water pump. Wondering if it out be airflow meter. It's an intermittent starting problem. If just tried starting again and now it's fine. If the starting was bad I was planning on unplugging the airflow meter to rule that out. There is also a problem with power loss occasionally after a bad start usually when you get 100m down the road all engine power goes like a stall

Hi Doonvrs, just wondering if you ever resolved the issue? I have a similar issue

Hi TQ, I see you've replied to a couple of very old threads. As a lot of older members wont be around anymore, you might have more luck if you start a new thread, listing what car and engine you have, what's going wrong, any fault codes you have, and what you've tried so far.

Then we should be able to diagnose the problem, and maybe point you at threads with th solution.
