OK..Possible with soft waxes as you say but I still see no real benefit using a DA to apply it even if it ensures a thin coat

Fair enough but not sure on your logic there, using this method is quicker, uses less effort, applies a thinner layer of wax all over the car and uses less wax?

OK.....I might try it if I can get an old finishing pad to use
