this was going down a hill. on straight lines i kept speeds from 140km up to 170km easy.

this was the total of my journey including stopping to pay tolls. (about 8 stops)

i didn't expect to travel so quick.

consumption excellent 7.7lt/100km for such high speeds

the only thing is that when you go up a hill you wish it was a tsi cause you need the torque from the compressor.

i have 4200km and no oil consumption.

also it is very quiet at high speeds.

Not so sure I would want to do 120mph in a Citigo....

.....will have to see how Boss Fox gets on!

I'm guessing that's a seatbelt warning light in the dial.

Was you getting ready to bail out at that speed?

I've already done 120mph in mine. But only on a slight downhill.

It doesn't want to go above 110mph on the flat.

Think the new one will be a little bit quicker.

excuse me cause i dont know the history but do you have a fox or a citigo?

It's a citigo but he's pitting a 1.8 T into it!

I have two Citigos.

One standard 75PS 5 door Elegance.

One not standard 60PS 3 door SE that is being fitted with 4x4 and a 400(ish)PS tuned 1.8t engine.

The thread is here:

This is about 60% through it's seven/eight month build.

But I was talking about my standard one in my post above.

120mph!! That's rather rapid for a little car! Reminds me of when I was younger hitting my first ton in a mini (real one not fake bmw rubbish). Now that was scary!

Most cars will do over their rated top speed given enough room, right wind conditions and maybe a down hill section.

Managed to squeeze 138mph (GPS) from our Cordoba on a long flat section of the Autobahn. Think the wind was behind us. The rated top speed of that was 128mph so was quite impressed. Speedo showed about 145mph.

Very impressive from a Citigo though. My only concern is the stability of such a little car at that speed and the speed rating of the tyres!

They are very stable at that speed. Surprisingly so for a small car I'd say, it feels as smooth as a much bigger car.

Tyres are rated to 130mph+

Cool.

I'm surprised such a high rated tyre is fitted tbh.

Will yours have different suspension on BossFox? It's definitely going to have bigger brakes on it!

The whole of the suspension is being done now.

Fuly adjustable custom made by Jabbasport, as in the projects section. Probably better for the track than stock. ;)

out citygo's speedo reads very fast at speed......... if you check with GPS on a motoryway 70 mph is an indicated 75, and its less difference at lower speed, and more difference at higher speed...

120mph is 114gps speed. I thought that was surprisingly accurate.

really? how odd, I thought ours was the biggest "out" on a modern car I've seen! ..... and our winters are the OE spec 185/55/15's...... odd that they are different .

edit: is yours a 75 , or a greentech? maybe it has an electronic feed, and ours is an oldstyle gearbox feed...

All the citigo's should have an electronic signal to the speedo driven from a sensor in the gearbox.

That difference sounds about right. Like I said before ours had a 7mph difference at 138.

That's usually what they will over read by.

It's a 75 Greentech running on the same size rubber.

Maxed my fireblade out a couple of times when I had it. now THAT was scary. at 120 you felt like you could get off and walk
