mk4 aero wipers - 19inch measurements

Featured Replies

Ages ago I bought a set of arms and blades from vagparts (or something like that). I fitted them to the car years ago and all was good. Just before Christmas I ordered a replacement set of blades from a seller on ebayer (someone else said they have used them and they were good).

Blades arrive - 21 and 19inch. I went to fit them today, the 21inch (drivers side) fitted perfectly. The passenger one doesn't. It appears my original blades don't have mounting point in the middle, but offset by about an inch.

However the new blades are both centre mounted. I spoke to the seller they tell me I am wrong, and that they have sold about 40 sets of blades of mk4 golfs and according to their "book" is Polo 2002-2005 is the only vehicle to have odd-centre mountings.

Therefore I ask you guys with mk4 aero blades if your passenger blade is centre mount, or offset slightly.

Thanks :-)

Mine appears to be centre mounted

Yeah mine are central too.

I had the same with a set I got from valeo when I fitted the 19 it over hung on the pillar!!! Luckily the clip moves on them aero blades so I just pushed clip in and moved the blade over. Hope this helps. If there aeros make sure there on right way try turn it over way

mmmm, most odd. I organised a Briskoda Group Buy, I think there were about 10-15 people who bought at the same time as me. I think the best thing I can do is extract the rubber from the new blade and insert it into the original blade I have. These aeros only mount one way, due to the way they attach onto the arms. I guess that must mean I have an arm which is the wrong length too.....

Pretty sure I saw a part number on the blade when I was looking at it in the office at lunchtime, will have a closer look tomorrow.

For those who say they are central - have you measured or just glanced at your car, as to be honest I would have thought mine was central till I looked a bit more closely.
