Cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have just bought a '56 plate petrol VRs, which I love. it has the added bonus of factory sat nav, but no cruise control. it has been suggested that all I need to do is buy a new stalk, plug it in and then have a dealer tell the car it now has cruise! is this right or are we talking specific wiring loom etc? having looked at some of the posts on here I am quite sure that someone will know. thanks to you all in advance. Colin

I imagine it has to be wired to the Ecu as well as being programmed by VCDS

It won't have to be wired to the ECU. However it's operation may hinge on what steering controller you have. But I'm yet to have a pre facelift vRS that didn't work eventually. Any that do play up a battery disconnect reboots the system and they work.

So, initially buy the stalk and fit it? Does it have to go to main dealer or can it plugged into regular snap on scanner etc? Thanks for your help so far.

You would need VCDS or dealer equipment.
