Brake bleeding help.

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've been changing my brake fluid today (trying too) and got a Gunsons Eezibleed. I've done three of the four brakes without a problem, now I've come to do the fourth an I've released the nipple and old fluid came out after that just air. Reservoir is topped up and the bottle on the Eezibleed is full. Am I doing something wrong and being a complete dummy?

Have you done them in the correct order?

Is the eeze bleed under enough pressure?

Order could be where I'm going wrong didn't know there was a certain sequence, using the spare wheel and I've let it down to just under 20psi as per the instructions.

Thanks for the replies.

You should always start with teh caliper furthest away from the master cylinder and work your way towards it.

Ok so it seems I've been a right t¡t and not done them in the right sequence, for future reference the sequence is as follows.

LHD models; 1) right-hand rear 2) left-hand rear 3) right-hand front 4) left-hand front

RHD models; 1) left-hand rear 2) right-hand rear 3) left-hand front 4) right-hand front

In this instance It doesn't really matter which order you bleed them tbh,

what I would do is check along the length of the brake pipe from front to back and make sure its not crushed anywhere, I once sawvone where a carelessly placed trolley jack had crushed the brake pipe and completely blocked out the brake to that wheel.

if youve not let any air in it shouldnt matter which order you bleed them.

May be worth trying the old someone pumps the peddle while someone else releases the nipple when the peddle has been pumped enough to build up pressure.

If air is coming out, there may have been a large air pocket already in the line which you would have to clear before new fluid shows.

Just remember not to pump the pedal all the way down to the floor.
