Good unit? Good price?

Featured Replies

Been thinking about an upgrade head-unit to something that recognises an iPod as a CD changer and can operate the iPod through the head unit's controls; reports about the Dension IceLink seem inconclusive.

I quite like the look of the Blaupunkt range as they seem a little more understated than certain other makes and also they offer a steering wheel remote as well as iPod compatibility.

While I have DAB at home and find it great, I can't decide between a CD/DAB tuner HU or something like this Blaupunkt one with SatNav built-in which would save having another box of tricks somewhere: http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/dxr52_b.asp

As I can't find this unit anywhere else and from the price, I assume it's an old model, which doesn't really bother me.

Seems a good price for a sat-nav unit. Anybody heard anything good or bad about them?

And being really green, what else would be needed to fit into a 2005 Furby, other than a fascia panel? How much should I expect to have to pay to get that installed? It's beyond what I'd trust myself with!

Cheers guys

Well I know someone who will be able to sell you a blaupunkt dab woodstock 53 for a nice price in a week or so, complete with skoda's Fabia facia panel and hand it to you in person at the next Kent meet ;)

Not heard anything bad about the DXR but basically you will be getting what you pay for, as 250 quid for sat nav with a radio is very cheap when you consider the Pioneer X1 is a much better sat nav unit and is around
