SUPERB HIGH LEVEL BRAKE LIGHT SOME BULBS OUT

Featured Replies

I have just noticed that some of the bulbs (3 together and 1 at end) of the high level brake light are not working on my 12 plate Superb hatch.

Owners manual doesn't seem to tell you how to change the bulbs (Leds i think). It looks like the top trim of the boot needs to come off so you can get to light fitting, but i don't want to force anything or damage trim.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd take it back to the dealer.

this might help but looks like a sealed unit. bill

Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.

Remove the top tailgate trim panel ? Body Work › Rep. Gr.70.

Release screws 2 (2 Nm).

Unlock the locking tabs one after the other using a small screwdriver arrows, while doing so push out the additional brake light.

Unplug connector 1.

Install

Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Note

  • The additional brake lamp does not have a bulb but is fitted with a LED. Replacement of the individual LEDs is not possible so the brake light must be replaced as a complete unit in the event of a fault.
