vRS juddery acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi guys, a small niggle with my fabia that is starting to annoy me is juddery acceleration at low revs and full power in 5th and 6th, so over 50mph ish. Skoda have told me that the egr valve needs replacing for another symptom and that this may be the cause for the juddering too, so one is on order. does anyone agree or have any other suggestions as i noticed it quite badly today, have also seen a 10 mpg drop :( thanks!

DO NOT accelerate from low revs in 5th and 6th!

Jheeeez people wonder why thing break.

5tth and 6th are cruising gears only and to be honest heavy acceleration in these gears is pointless even in a VRS.

nothing wrong with dropping down to 4th to get a bit of speed up, saves your clutch too.

as a slightly helpful answer. my fabia is abit stuttery occassionally, mines mainly when setting off tbf. but mines due to the EGR been caked in rubbish. give it a clean out and hey presto, shes good for a bit longer :) mine will be getting removed soon though.

and make sure your car is serviced upto date, changing my fuel filter alone raised my mpg and improved the smoothness of my car :)

I agree with the heavy accelerating in higher gears, so much stress on the clutch/flywheel/gearbox.

Quick question, is the car remapped?
