Hi all, hoping someone here can help. I have a 54 plate fabia vrs. Driving home tonight in 4th gear at about 2000 rpm th car started accelerating by itself??!?? So I dropped the clutch to disengage the gear and it revved to the limiter instantly bouncing off it for about 3-4 seconds then returned to normal!! Did this 3 times in 20 mins. And doesn't seem to do it in any other gears. What is wrong with it??

Could be a dodgy accelerator pedal.

Needs a fault code scan etc. really.
