Anyone know this car or dealer?

Featured Replies

That's a very tidy looking Octy! Almost the spit of mine but I only paid 2k on an 05 plate :)

Are you looking to import it over here? It'll end up costing a lot more to get one in the UK by the time you change your euro's, flights and VRT, there selling fairly cheap here in Ireland now if you can find a good one, that is!!

Not sure if this one is sold or not? worth a shout though.....

Yeah I'd hang on for one over here. VRT will dump another €600-700 on top of that

whats vrt? some sort of tax no doubt? still its a LOT!

Very Rubbish Tax

Registration tax. Basically any car you import has VRT put on it calculated on emissions and what the government recon market value is.

It's a complete **** take is what it is

"the radleys" is a car sales town / area

Big car supermarkets, back horse etc. just behind there, prob a part ex sales place, never known anyone use that one though

@ mark

I was looking at importing but not sure if I should or not.

I missed a lovely one in Tipperary last Friday.

That one you linked to is a bit of a yoke.

Needs:

4 new discs and pads

CV Boots

Something in the front suspension,

Back box.

How about this one Mark?

you know anyone that could take a look in for me before i take the drive up?

Thanks

The filth on the seats of that one says a lot to me

@ Frisco.

Woman owner with kids = spilt drinks.

Seats will be valeted prior to purchase

So says the the dealer but on every seat in the car? The drivers seat has a farmers arse mark in it

I think that one in the link doesn't look too bad, it's a 10 year old car at this stage...

But getting back to going to the UK for one, I think you'd be crazy.

I've bought a lot of cars there and imported to Ireland, it's ok if your going to buy a few year old car with low enough miles, as you almost know by talking to the owner what it's going to be like condition/maintenance wise, however both I and my brother have gone over buying cheapish cars and it's a nightmare, the amount of times we've gone, having been told the car was mint, spotless etc only to find a complete dog, you need to be sure the car your going to see is perfect and exactly as you want it to be, your talking approx €400 for your flights, food and ferry home, the exchange rate, say on that car in the link is approx €3200, then you have VRT when you get it back, not sure what it is on a mk1 vRS but the bottom rate is something like €700, then you will have to go to the hassle of getting it VRT'd and then you need to NCT test it, your going to have a very expensive vRS at the end of the day, your almost coming up on mk2 vRS money at that stage,

If you can hold on, a good one will come along at home, I'm working in Monaghan all this week until Sunday finishing a job, but if that black vRS is still there next week I can see (work depending) if I can get up to check it out for you no problem at all, somebody on Autostadt.ie might be able to check it out sooner for you if you want to ask there maybe....

Might actually stick it on autostadt.

Thanks for the help and advice
