I have a Mk2 Skoda Octavia, 2004, 2.0 TDI BKD engine, its a bit of a long story!!!

2 days ago the cars immobiliser prevented the car from starting after nipping into the shops for 15 mins approx. I cleared the fault codes with a basic reader I was given for xmas and the car started an I thought nothing more of it.

Last night while driving on the motorway I had every light on the dash board light up, a loud bleeping then sounded followed 10 seconds later by the speedo/rev counter stopping working followed by all the non warning lights on the dash going out and the trip computer freezing. The car continued to run normally with no loss of power or lumpy running.

After stopping and clearing some of the fault codes the cars speedo and rev counter worked. The same thing happened when I was nearly home. Today I have had the same thing 3 times, while driving the short distance to and from work.

With thanks to DONOVAN this evening I have a scan of my car. I would be grateful if those of you with a far better understanding of these things than I could try and point me in the right direction. I have done some searching and the only similar symptoms I could find are related to a faulty cluster that may need replacing?

Thanks for reading

Have a look at the Ross Tech Wiki, but I would suspect that all but the glow plug faults are linked.

Without looking at the wiki I would suspect a wiring problem, possibly CAN related, but you would think there would be errors in the CAN gateway or other controllers and not just the engine controller.
