rear parking sensor's

Recommended Posts

The rear parking sensors on my blackline hatch have finally stopped working. With the constant wet weather in sunny northern Ireland my sensors stay on permantly when reverse is selected. It appears to be the rear nearside sensor at fault. Luckily there's is a mute button on the screen of my stereo . Has anyone else had this problem.

Had that 3 times now.

First time, the dealer replaced the sensor under warranty.

The next couple of times I just gave them a clean and they started working again.

Seems to be a common fault with them, though I never had that on my last car, a Leon FR, exactly the same sensors.

I had to replace one of mine! Wish I'd known about the hair-dryer trick.

Its a great system when it works, never had one before but would not be without it now.

My replacement I got off eBay was quite cheap. I think it came from somewhere like Lithania

Yup one of the sensors on my blackline does it about once a week at the moment. Always the same sensor. Seems to dry out often a day so not too bad.

Will mention it at the fist service, want it fixing on principal.

Hi, I had this same issue. If you place your finger very lightly on the sensor you should be able to feel it pulsing,if not then this is the faulty one. I must admit I did not know about the hairdtyer trick, I just ordered two new ones from TRADE PARTS SPECIALIST without asking the price! Big mistake, £140.00!!!!
