de wiper rear

Featured Replies

Just curious if anyone has done this and if so had any issues? My rear wiper has decided to keep going all the time and I don't really use it. What are everyone's thoughts should I fix it or dee wiper?

Cheers guys

You can and buy a rubber bung to seal the hole. Saves a tiny bit of weight too. Just remember to plug the end of the washer pipe too.

Cheers lad. I'm going to take that as a vote to go for it :-) :-)

And a blob of silicone to seal it

Your Wiper motor asm has got water ingress and has killed the electrics. Very common problem.

I de wipered mine some time go but really miss it so fitted a second hand one last week. I use it a lot.

I have picks of re fitting mine so you can use them to reverse remove if you want me to post them up.

Do it the proper way

Change the bootlid, I was lucky on one of my old octy faclift but it didn't have a rear wiper like early ones was abit of a miss build

I've done mine, removed wiper, kinked/cable tied washer pipe out of the way and put a 25mm grommit in place. No problems at all.

Never bothered me at the time, can't see much out the back of the window anyways on the octy

buy proper blanking plate off ebay about 12 quid, with sealant supplied has a recess cut into it fits from inside boot had mine done about a year and a half no leaking issues at all. It is made from acrylic hope it helps.

to block the washer just disconnect at the washer pump - on the hatch it is the rearmost hose when looking from front of car

Thanks for all the info guys, I will be looking on eBay for a blanking plate (never even thought you could get them). Also Trevor your right about not seeing much that's one of the many reasons my Gf is not allowed to drive it lol.
