Recommended body shops in the Leeds/York area

Got home at lunchtime to find SWMBOs i10 has been sideswiped, from the passenger door to the back of the car :@ No note of course. It's either happened outside the house since last night or when she parked at the supermarket this morning. She has a £200 excess and had a claim two years ago, so if we claim this time and something else happens in the next year her no claims disappears.

It doesn't look like the doors have been dented, but the leading edge of the back door is down to the metal, and there are deep scrapes to the metal on both doors and on part of the sill, which also has dents. I'm guessing someone tried to back out from a parking bay next to her and put too much lock on and just carried on reversing. Quite how you wouldn't notice is beyond me - or maybe they just didn't care.

Depending on the cost to get it repaired (the car's only four years old and <15,000 on the clock) I might get it done privately, so can anyone recommend a good place to get it looked at for an estimate?

In York there's a body repairer near monks cross on Malton road at the new lane Huntington junction. Can't remember the name, lass at work had a nasty dent near the rear side window of her free lander. Really good job and was cheap toi

Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

Rick at Kiwi Colour did a great job on dents and scratches on my Octavia. And he comes to your house :D

Thanks for the info. I'll check the two firms out after I've been to the dealers (Hatfields in York) as it's still in warranty, so the repairs will have an impact on the anti-corrosion side of things. It's due an MOT in the next three weeks so I'll find out what's needed then.

D M Keith in leeds will sort it no problem they an approved bodyshop good work Highly reccomended!!

To followup on this...

I took it to the dealers the following week as it was due for MOT & service. I asked for a quote for the repair and they sent that through later in the week - £1980 (new front door in that lot)! No claims is worth having, but not that much. So it's gone the insurance route and was collected at the weekend. Due back during half term and we asked for the cost, out of interest, and it was £2086 (two new doors). Ouch :whew:
