Award yourself 10 SP (smug points) if...

...you fitted winter tyres to your fabia and kept going as 'normal' in the snow!

Conti TS850 winter tyres on my vRS this year and I've had all sorts of stupid questions and comments from people at work who have no idea what they are and how good they are in winter conditions. Today leaving work, I just drove out as normal whilst everyone else was sat there spinning and sliding.

So, if you to are glad you bought winter tyres, you can have 10 SP!

I have to say, it is amazing how you can just drive 'like normal' with these things fitted. Second best purchase I've made since buying the actual car

I had the job of selling them last year. My current collegues laughed me when i said i was going to try sort some for my monte, sadly money was readily available so i have to say with the summer contis :/ luckily we have had next to nothing in way of snow

I have been looking for winter wheels and tyres but the extra expense is putting me off somewhat, I shall have to see if I can save up and get a set later this year.

How many if you coped fine on normal tyres even in several inches of snow?

how many points you get for handbraking into car park spaces like a boss !

Ha ha yeah

If its in a car park, there's no need to worry about points, surely? It's not a road...

Been running winter tyres for the last two winters on all our cars, after having had a near miss in the first Yeti in 09, which lost control on a hill and became a toboggan and the following winter having to rescue my good lady from work (remote village school), as she couldn't get her Fabia Elegance to move, even enough to try fit the snow socks she had in the boot.

Our main concern now is dodging other road users on these useless modern summer tyres, as they slide about, fail to stop or even hope to regain a spin. Oh also makes me cringe when I read of people only fitting winter tyres to the front, as it was the back end of our Yeti that let go first and spun the car 180 :S

Sunny, dry and no snow in Glasgow :-)

My uncle used to have a Kangoo and it hardly weighed more than 1000kg... Without any load that is. How come yours is nearly double?

Pretty sure that's what it says on the plate, I'll check tomorrow.

I coped quite well with the standard Monte tyres, it was entertaining at times and damn scarry other times

Quite smug watching people slipping and slidding on the compacted snow/ice the side. Michelin Alpin made it real easy and not a hint of ASR.
