Only on the ASG versions I think, although it is available as an option on other VAG cars - manuals included.

Mine has it, 5 speed elegance.

Touch the brake pedal on a hill before releasing the handbrake and it holds the car (braked) before moving away, prevents roll back.

I use it on a particular traffic light junction where it has pretty steep slope on the road, works well there.

Thanks Mick. Did not realise that my VW Up (on order) has it included as well. It is a good option to have as like you I have a steep hill near me, and I miss not having the feature on my Yeti, as had it on my previous VW.

they all (manuals assume Asg as well) have it from build week in July 2012 not sure exact

Ours has it.

Found it works without putting the handbrake on too.

Also found that the car doesn't roll forwards or back without the engine running.
