Skoda vs Seat quality

Featured Replies

Well after owning an octavia vrs and a leon fr tdi thought id comment on the quality

The quality of the interior on the Skoda wins hands down, far more appealing interior

Octavia gets perforated leather handbrake gaitor, perforated leather steering wheel and gear gaitor. Black headlining and black trim, half leather seats and a nice instument cluster. Nice flush shut air vents

Leon gets smooth leather steering wheel, smooth leather gear gaitor and a lovely plastic effect handbrake. Gear knob is also extremely fugly! Dash cluster is ugly and the whole interior is in red only, crappy non flush fitting air vents and cloth seats, also has a lovely beige headlining and beige plastics

Plastic quality's seem much the same however.

Basically the octavia was a much nicer place to be, the leon interior is bland and uninspiring, it hurts my eyes and cheapens the car dramatically

So rather goes against the trend of skoda being the cheaper model!

Only saving grace my leon has is its mpg! But i do miss the octavia :(

All that is more personal preference than quality though.

The MKI Octavia interior is also available in some very dubious colours.

I've gone from a Seat Cordoba to an Octavia MK2.

A different platform all together I know but still the build quality is a massive leap forward from the Seat.

Even when I've looked inside a Fabia the build quality is much better in comparison to the Seat even though it was based on the same platform.

Phil

Seats do get much much better seat options compared to Skoda's and VW's

I wouldnt say its really personal preference.

The octy vrs gets half leather as standard the leon gets cloth.

Same with perforated leather you get that on the likes of golf anniversarys yet the octy has its as standard

The interior on the octy is a higher standard of trim then, maybe not better quality but definately better spec thats for sure :)

And the 2 trims i compared are pretty much the same level

Octy vrs is 180bhp

Leon fr comes in tdi 150 and 180 petrol so much the same level

Looking at the cupra r isnt really a fair comparison but id still chose the octavia vrs's interior over it

Dude, the vRS seats are the lowest quality seat in any VAG car

- so cheap they've not put airbags in

The only other Octy leather seat option is the L&K seat, which is basically a leather covered Elegance seat

Seats got several leather/leather-suede seat options

Not sure on the exact number of options, but there's non-electric fabric/leather/leather-suede seats

at least 1 model of full electric leather/leather-suede

- plus all several colour combo's

Then whatever LCR options

Seats also have leather/leather-suede door card options

The vRS interior isn't even real leather. It's cheap pleather. And the cushions underneath have a life of about 20000 miles. I'd go for higher end Seat over anything Skoda has to offer any day of the week. But Cupra R owners can keep that steering wheel... :/

Honestly you lot may feel that way but im talking first hand experience i have owned both models

I have a blinking plastic handbrake ffs! Its complete trash!

Went for a spin in a mates Leon Cupra (180). Very cheap, plasticky and low rent IMO.

I do like the seats in are altea tdi sport :)

I keep thinking they'd be nice in my octy

My friend had a leon Cupra R and it rattled all the time. My wife has an Altea and it is a little offensive inside.

The Fabia VRS SE had leather seats...

Heonestly this is not a cheap looking interior! For what it is its rather good

I miss it

My leon is junk in comparison

I know what you mean here, the ibiza is quite cheap plastic if that makes sense, and those air vents annoy me too

Yeah its the same on the fabia vs ibiza!

Fabia vrs wins hands down. Only issue is seat colour but when they are clean they look good

The MKI Octavia interior is also available in some very dubious colours.

Not in VRS trim, only 1 option which was what OP was referring to.

I wouldnt say its really personal preference.

Having driven a few Seats and a Cupra I would agree VRS is much better interior. certainly from a looks perspective. I think the comfort of the VRS seats lets it down and the lack of real bolstering . Something the S3 and R32 does well even the Golf Gti over the VRS and seat's

Even in new Seats the interiors are a bit dubious. I don't know why as they should be better than Skoda for the price point.

Dude, the vRS seats are the lowest quality seat in any VAG car

My seats came with air bags in as standard in my mk1 vrs :)

But I must admit after owning a seat I much prefer the skoda all round!

only the wrc vrs seats had airbags, no other vrs seats had them afaik.

Problem is the vrs seat is a terrible seat compared to some of the other vag offerings, as demonufo says 'pleather' and lack of support being the key.

I drove a seat once,mk1 leon.....I bounced the door and the windscreen allmost popped off.I never ever even heard of something like that.

That was the last time I drove a seat.
