I would really appreciate if someone tells me what might be the problem with my car. Two days ago my wife was driving our Skoda Fabia, when an EPC light appeared on the dashboard and right after that the gas pedal started making problems. The pedal was going freely back and forth and when pushed the car didn't accelerate. After she restarted the engine the problem seemed to have disappeared but occasionally a few times afterwards, while driving, the EPC light was on again and the pedal did the same troubles. The guys at the service shop made a diagnostics of the car and didn't find anything wrong, they simply re-installed some software and said that the error was due to a bug with the electronics. My question is if someone has experienced similar problems and is there anything else that might be causing the pedal rebuff rather than simply the electronics. I am reading in some Bulgarian forums different suggestions, nevertheless the information is incomplete and ambiguous so that is why I decided to ask you guys here. Thanks in advance.

Its possibly a sensor. I had similar, a day of issues, dpf etc, limp mode the works, roadside could not solve. Parked it, next morning to drive to dealer, no light all was fine.

I left told to drive it till light came on, then bring in. I refused. Turns out after some proper analysis, they found a sensor to replace.

If your car is under a warranty, then push and keep pushing. If it's not then fingers crossed it was a glitch and will indeed have gone away.
