vcds no .rod file

Featured Replies

Bit baffled by VCDS tonight. My wife's 1.2 tsi golf went into limp mode and the EPC light came on. When she came in I plugged in VCDS, cleared all the fault codes and then scanned it again. Both times it came up with a repeated pop up saying ".ROD file cannot be found".

Then I get a message saying I should send the scan file to ross tech. This is the message I got. Anyone got any ideas?

Basically Ross-Tech need this info so it can be included in the next update, you will then not see the message.

weird, it's a 2011 Golf and it used to scan just fine. Dunno what they must have done

probably down to the newest version then, I know Ross-tech trimmed back some label files

A reinstall sorted it for me

Thank you all... I'll try the last beta then...

The beta version could be doing something wrong on the car, or only could have bugs without dangerous problems??...

12.10.6 is the last one, right?...

Best regards!

Yes! absolutely... Thank you!!! :)

I had a very similar problem last week when I tried to upgrade to the latest version.

My issue was caused by my laptop crashing during the update and it not completing fully.

Uninstal the software, download the latest version and reinstal. All good since then.

A deinstallation shouldn't be necessary, the regular update/upgrade should fix all potential mishaps. Any deinstallation would also wipe your existing log files, so make sure you got backups.
