Alloy wheel dilema

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a set of alloys for winter next year (as well as a set of 18") for the Monte, I'm starting to loose the plot and having a serious 'brain fart/senior moment' can anyone tell for certain if the mk4 Golf alloys will fit without any issues? (they have the correct PCD and ET) I'm also looking at the as well as another option.

thanks in advance

Scott

mine came off a 52 plate golf if that helps, no idea which mk that is

I've seen a white mk2 Fabia vRS around here which is sitting on mk4 Golf alloys, ^^ the mad monks no doubt :)

Reading this thread if my old 18'' oz superleggeras from my old Audi s3 8L would fit  New tyres would be needed

Yes they will fit, however if you move away from genuine VAG wheels then you may need to change the bolts as well, as although all genuine VAG wheels use the same type of bolt not all aftermarket ones do.

It might get you started. Also I think you are brave sticking on 18" rims, I thinking of another set of 16" for summer use as I find the 205/40 a little harsh on the crap roads in the UK.

Brave or stupid (there's a fine line :giggle: ) the 18's came into my head as I've seen a cheap pair on-line with the tyres

Those wheels may fit if the centre bore is big enough (57.1mm) and as mentioned you may need a set of taper seat wheel bolts. The width of the wheels + offset means there may be a risk of the edge of the arch fouling the tyre. MK4 Golf wheels will definitely fit, along with MK1 Octavia or any 5x100, ET 35-45, 57.1mm bore. I don't know how wide you can go and you need to stay within a few % on the rolling diameter of the tyre.
