What do you guys think? (Springs)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just wanted to see what your opinions were on these lowering springs?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-6Y-99-06-1-9-TDi-SDi-LOWERING-SPRINGS-30mm-/160565750280?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D5178566909671029866%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D7%26sd%3D160422316334%26

Now they say they can be used with oem shocks, what are your thoughts on this? They are TUV approved and have 12 month warranty etc. Seem to have a lot of good reveiws too?

Any help/feedback would be appreciated

Cheers!

Matt :)

I'd it was me I'd spend the extra which ain't a lot tbh and get the Eibach pro kit springs.

+1

I'm going to get the Eibachs myself but will then need to save to get them fitted. :(

As I understand eibachs are better suited to upgraded dampers I've opted for a vogtland damper and spring kit! Not fitted yet so cannot comment on performance!!!

I upgraded just my springs last year for H&R 30mm jobbies. The car has done over 80,000 miles and I was disappointed with the ride afterwards. It was very crashy with little give so did not inspire confidence when driving because I was trying to avoid every little bump. The standard shocks were too worn to cope. I ended up investing in a full B12 bilstein kit which comes with eibach springs. It has made a complete difference and I would endorse changing the shocks as well as springs. It does depend on what your budget is and what you are trying to achieve. Looks wise just doing springs will do the job.

Can you let us know what they're like once fitted? Thinking about getting a set of these (or the AP springs and shocks set) myself.

Unfortunately not ready to fit em just yet!

Heard good things for the money!

Cheers for the replies guys!! SOrry ive taken so long to write back been a bit busy recently! Thats all good to know! I think ive decided to save up more and go for both springs and shocks as I dont want to ruin any of the other parts. I was looking at the 30mm AP set, has anyone had any experience with these?

I've got Q+H 30mm springs to be fitted, along with Sachs touring shocks new.

The springs weren't even that much more than those ones, and cheaper than the stock Eibach too.

As a plus they are also very subtle being all black and don't shout they are modified such as glaring red - for that more subtle look.

I don't know about these "grey area" shocks like that ad, but buy cheap buy twice come to mind as I'm much rather go for "branded" products. Having been there done that etc.

Someone to name and shame if it all goes to **** is good. This is what is keeping you off the ground after all.

For the sake of the cost of them make sure you or whoever does it replaces all the self locking nuts too, I think it must add about £5 to the changeover and is it worth meeting the ditch for the price of a 90p nut.
