Who has 15mm spacers on their motor? Pics please

Featured Replies

As title states I have 15mm spacers to go on rear and 12mm to go on front.

Will these cause std wheels / tyres to rub on arches??

My car is quite low....

appreciate pics and comments guys...

wider track on the front is advantageous mark,i ran 15s on the front of mine, but the pic won't help as i didn't run standard wheels and their offset was different.

As you are low, there is a good chance they will rub somewhere, even if its only on lock going up a ramp

best thing i could offer in terms of advice is, straighten the front wheels, and use a ruler or a tape measure offer it upto the side of the tyre and see if it'll come close, but, Spiders on the rear have et 38 and they fit snugly, and now i have rs8 reps et 35 and the rub the back arch, so hope this helps you, cause imo octys could be doing with spacers to try and make the speedbumps that goes in the middle more comfortable to go over

Hi,

When I first got my car and took rear wheels off, discovered I had 15mm spacers that promptly fell on the floor (they did not locate on the hub dia but floated about and were a pain to centralise as you did the wheel up).

The car was / is on std suspension with a whiteline rarb, the rear wheels were slightly outside the arch body line, but never rubbed.

One day another vrs parked beside me and i compared them, to be honest you couldnt easily tell the increase in width from std.

I took them off and drove it round a few fast bends and didnt notice any change, so I threw them away.

Sorry no pics

lo, those are non hubcentric spacers, which are nothing but trouble imo, am sure mark will have bought hubcentrics knowing him, which are machined to locate properly to avoid issues like wobble though unbalanced placement.

Its no help but im planning 20mm bolt ons front and rear when i use my spiders :)

Hopefully with the rear camber it will work

Also ive noticed that the "i know i know" nankang as-1 is naturally stretched look tyre which may help ( still peeking at tyres when im places )

For anytime i wana pop the ch's off

Or give the car away :p

Yep I am going to use Hubcentric after the crud CM 8mm non Hubcentric ones i had that caused all sorts of wheel wobble and cracked center spigots.

simple advise buddy, cheers

I think the spiders fit more snug on the back which is why i am suspicious 15mm are going to cause issue in my lowered stance. I also have the 17/45/225 tyres which give little clearance on rears.

May just fit 12mm up front to clear the KW spring platform when i re lower, and leave the rear without spacers....

If its any help this is on my leon

12mm front

15mm rear

With 225/45/17 tires

So should be the same as an octy! No problems what so ever and im low!

Cheers buddy

I am lower than that. My top of the tyre can not be seen on the rear.

Lower you go the more they tuck so i still think you'll be alright

Oh and even with a full load no rubbing on rear :)

20mm blimmey.

In theory it should put the face of the spider where my ch comes too :D

Ish..... Then its a case of a rounded shoulder tyre

And the as-1s have a pre-formed stretch look

Ish :D

I just feel the need to use bolt on spacers etc

We shall see ;)

I prefer bolt through!

Bolt on can strip easy

My pcd seem ok, but then again i use h&r ones

Likewise when i go with spacers

its down to the design of the wheel and the offset. I have 15mm in each front wheel and a 30 offset alloy and the tire is slightly coming out from the fender, if it was lowered the fender would cut the tire! At the back I currently have 8mm in each tire but this will also change to 15mm.
