60k service costs

Featured Replies

Our 09 170 CR is due for its 4yr/60k service

Local dealer has quoted me

£350 for the service (Variable)

£410 for the cambelt change

£100 for the waterpump change which they reccomend

This seems a bit high to me

Cambelt and water pump seem way too expensive, I would have thought £300 for both together.

Try another dealer or an independant.

yeah saw that with regards to the cambelt , the dealer in question is participating in that scheme as well which is a bit naughty

As Mannyo says: Try another dealer.

I mean would u still want to go there if he matches the Skoda.co.uk

prices - knowing tht he tried to charge u more initially?

Just ring up again and ask if they are participating in the National Pricing offer? When he says yes, then just tell him the work that you need doing. Then say that you noticed the National Pricing offer is a maximum price, so could they do it any cheaper for a loyal customer...?

I know they are a participating dealer, sadly it looks like my local dealer has gone bust , this is the next one out but after this they wont be getting my business now after trying to get an extra £300 off me

Independent it is then.

Wow!

Thts not bad.

I just paid Skoda £350 for 2 years FIXED servicing including MOT.

Plus agreed to £299 for cambelt change.

In addition to Water Pump and DSG oil change!

Maybe consider getting the air con serviced, rather than topped up? Get them to knock the price of the pollen filter off, as they will be including that in the car service anyway.

I used the term check rather than service but its a lot more than just topping up

National pricing on that Skoda page is for cars with fixed interval servicing; OP was on variable.
