golf tdi to fabia 1.4 tdi

Featured Replies

hello

im in my third week of owning my fabia 1.4 tdi, buying her was an exercise in cutting down costs and on that alone id say mission complete

.i ran a golf estate 1.9 tdi 100bhp but chipped to about 130bhp and maybe some at tha,t apart from a blown turbo seal i had 6 years of good service from it ,replacing it made me panic, a cracking car.

now this little fabia doesnt feel like a down grade it feels just like a vw all the controls seem familiar and the weedy 1.4 tdi that ive come to love the sound of isnt so weedy. its got balls but cost me pennys to run .30 quid a year to tax !! and a about 60 mpg !! .

safe to say im a convert i love the shear honesty of the car,and put some winter tyres on and this car will go places that would shame some soft roaders.

Welcome to the forum, the fabia section will have the answers for most things you want to know about your new car and there's other forums both car related and general topics too if you're interested

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to Brisky - The friendliest car forum on the internet - BAR NONE

I am sure you were surprised that the switchgear looked so familiar, and nice to see that someone else has seen the light that you dont have to pay VW or Audi prices for a car that is an all round workhorse.

The Fabia forum will be able to help with all those little niggles you have & saving you even more pennies not paying silly dealer prices for small jobs that you can easily do yourself.

Now a BIIIIIIG question - Would you have another Skoda ?

would i have another.............. hell.yeah 3-4 weeks into ownership im still happy and actualy falling for her .ive had chance to have a real good look around her and i can see the subtle differences carpets shiny trim blah blah but a big plus for me is its a simple car made well and it kinda leans towards me doing most of her upkeep myself i really cant grumble about the economy and on the note of economics if it wasnt for the fact my wage is stretched further than ever and no pay rises for 3-4 years the cost counts for me other than that my only regret about my fabia is its missing the vrs badge.!!!
