my 01 1.9td has interval starting problems some times it will start straight away other times it will start and run lumpy and others time not at all. when it does start it runs fine.there is only one fault code load signal alternator term implausible signal. told it could be a fuel temp sensor but no fault is shown just wondering if any one has some idea

Does it do it all time or just cold starts??

Does it get warm on temp gauge and stay warm??

Does is start easier if you let the glow plug light go out, turn off ignition and turn back on, wait til light goes out and start. You can check glow plugs with a mutli-meter..

Battery starting to fail coupled with a dodgy alternator? Low/varying voltages might be upsetting the ECU? Only a wild guess though.
