Got a bit of time on my hands this week so i plan on having a go at getting rid of the tacky carbon fibre look on my vRS interior trim.Just wondering which would be cheaper to replace if it doesn't work,the ashtray lid or the climatronic/stereo surround bit?

Be careful these are not cheap items,

:orb_faint CRIKEY!!! any idea how to get the gaiter of to get the surround off? I have had a go before now to no avail.

This is a golf but it's the same. Just slide your fingers under and pull it gently upwards.

There's a couple of screws inside the ashtray which releases the ashtray/gearbox surround/gaitor assembly. I'm not sure how you release the gearknob off the stick itself though. I did it once, on the day I rolled Fabia Mk1. I vaguely remember breaking something and needing to secure the new gearknob with a jubilee clip.

I hope to make a better job next time around.

Thats on a Fabia,Octy is different

Been to halfrauds to try and get some of that interior dye stuff but could only see some halfrauds own brand in no exciting colours whatsoever.I only looked by the paint and touch up kits though,should i have looked in the Ripspeed bit upstairs aswell(at the risk of looking like a chav)?
