Servicing question

Featured Replies

Hey, I've got a octy vrs 10 plate with almost 20000 miles on it. When I check the dashboard service display it says its not due for another 7k miles. I got the car at 10.5k which was serviced then. This seems quite a big gap between servicing??? Am I right in thinking there's 2 different servicing types on the octy? Any info would be great, thanks.

Hi. You are right - there are two servicing options. The first is 'standard' servicing which is done on a mileage interval. The second is 'variable' servicing where sensors in the engine decide when the car requires servicing depending on oil quality, etc. I believe the maximum interval is 18000 miles or 2 years, but someone else may know better. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, so the dash readout would be about right. Not sure if I'm 100% happy with 18k intervals even though the oil don't look to bad and I regularly clean the k+n filter. Thought I'd get a few opinions on here before speaking to the stealer.
