Thinking of lowering...

Featured Replies

Hi guys, quick question. I'm thinking of lowering my fabia but I'm getting confused by all different answers over the internet. Can I just get lowered springs? Or do I have to get new shocks, etc.. too?

Cheers

Yes you can lower on just springs, new shocks would be a good idea as the standard ones won't be able to cope.

Lowering springs are fine on standard shocks up to 25-30mm, any lower then I would consider replacing the shocks too

How many miles have your current shocks covered?

I was only gonna go about 25-30mm anyway so that's good news :) Ermm not sure on the shocks, I'd have to have a look

I'm so tempted to just swap for a decent shock & spring kit sometimes!

WIth a 25-30mm drop you should be fine with just springs depending on the condition of your shocks but it's generally always a better option to go for matched springs and shocks.

Gonna jump in real quick, im wanting to lower mine but have no idea what to go for, im guessing the vRS lowered springs wouldnt work on mine with it being a lighter car, also what kits are good for a decent price?

and is there any other way of doing it other than coilovers as ive heard mixed feelings about them?
