Creaky suspension

Featured Replies

My SE110 2WD 10plate 20000 miles Yeti has creaky suspension on the off side, at the rear I think. Noticeable when going over speed bumps (slowly!) in particular, both when the front wheels go over and also when the rears do as well. Is this a problem, can I ignore it, can I fix it? It sounds like how I feel getting up in the morning!!

Any suggestions please-about the car,not me. I'm too far gone!

(Taking my life in my hands), have you checked for a broken spring?

Otherwise, I can't recall hearing of any suspension creaks on Yetis so far.

I have had a problem with creaks and groans from the rear of the car from new. Even the garage mechanics have now heard it and agreed there is an issue, but have fauiled to repair it in 3 years/40k.

I have mentioned it on here several times, and others have had simmilar issues.

Last attempted repair was a new clutch and flywheel assembly as they reckoned it was juddering and causing the creak. I told them it would not work, and it didn't, but anyway new clutch fitted for free!

I have given up, this is a company car and it will be replace next year so will live with it till then.

On reversing out of a car parking space the other day on full left lock, the front offside wheel gave a loud crack.

It happened again a few days later going along about 50, as the weight of the body went over to the offside with some spirited cornering. :giggle:

Anyone heard of this before?

Stop the car please. I want to get out...
