My Tyres

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience of using MyTyres to buy online please?

I used them 3 years ago without any issues at all, last year I used Oponeo.co.uk instead as they were £10 per tyre cheaper still, again no issues and arrived 2 days later.

Yes, I have bought multiple sets of wheels and tyres from them without problem. The only thing I would say is they sometimes ship from Germany so it takes time (a week).

Just bought a pair of Falken 439 winters at a good price.

Website is easy to use, lots of information and vast choice of tyres. You are able to track the tyres along their journey.

Dispatched from Germany on 17 December and were logged at local depot 3 miles away on 20 December. Did not arive before Christmas but I thought that this was because of Christmas rush. When I chased them on January 2nd they could not track down the tyres.

Replacement set dispatched from Germany on 3 Jan and arrived 7 January.

All my summer Maxxis MA Z1 tyres will need replacing shortly, considering Goodyear Eagle Ass2 or Michelin Primacy HP. Went into Best Tyres in Joke-on-Trent and they were able to quote me similar prices to all online specialists.

I have bought from them too, as others said they take about a week to arrive. Was looking at Oponeo too but their checkout system is not secure and they don't appear to have a UK address listed on their website.

I just ordered some tyres and paid with Amex. They since said they've changed the payment method to bank transfer. No explanation as to why, no confirmation that they've not charged my Amex, nothing. If they're wanting cleared funds for payment they might be in financial trouble. Seems suspicious to me. The tyres were £24 cheaper each than black circles but I'm insisting on credit card payment so I have consumer protection as purchase over £100. Thoughts guys?

Have you got a Visa/Mastercard you could use instead?

I have yes, but they accept Amex too. I've been swapping emails with them but will be calling them Monday. I've just called them today but got an automated message stating they're only open "Monday to Saturday, 6 through 11 eastern standard time". Even their message system doesn't know it's ar$e from its elbow as its definitely Saturday and between 6 and 11 even using EST.

They also take PayPal, can you go through that with your card?

Used them for my winter tyres and wheels. Would certainly recommend and they do keep keep you informed of the progress of the order. I did wonder why they charged £10 per wheel carriage, and they did ship form Germany and each wheel is separately packed and labelled.

Delivery was about a week

I have used them and they are good, Black Sircle are also good, but weigh it up against the ease of just going to a garage...

I've repeatedly heard of people having problems when trying to pay by personal credit cards and the usual answer is to use PayPal. I think it might be that credit cards are less common in Germany, but that may only be an internet rumour. What I can say, though, is that I've had no trouble paying using a company debit card, and strangely it's one that HMRC and most UK retailers treat as if it were a credit card.

Ok, so quick update. I eventually spoke with someone in Germany. They called me back from there. They told me it was something to do with Amex. I guess an anti-fraud measure on Amex's side even though all my home address details were the usual.

So I paid with MasterCard and tyres were shipped to ProTyre in Poole. All fitted no problem and the tyres are excellent. My fuel economy has risen but this may be a combination of engine running in and the narrower tyres meaning less rolling resistance.

I'd use them again.
