Lowering octavia MK1 HOW LOW ?

Featured Replies

How much can i lower a mk1 octavia safely without running in to sump problems catching speedbumps and cracking etc i will be using lowering springs on standard shocks however not sure how low to go as it is my daily driver so need it drivable and comfortable .. Mine is a 2006 MK1 so has the 1.9 PD 100 bhp.

I'd say 30 mm springs if you would like to keep the ride comfortable and everything safe ie the sump

Well where i live we dont have speed bumps but mountains, i'am lowered and well i've got mines set ideal on coil overs i'll upload a picy in a bit, firstly i got to get the kids to school

If you are going to use standard shocks you dont want to go any lower than 35mm as you will ruin your handling and destroy the shocks as they are probably fairly old .The best thing is to buy a kit like wietec i had the shock and spring kit it was very good 35mm lower on a vrs .but if you want to go lower try ap coil overs these are made by kw/wietec and cheap.

As mentioned on standard shocks I'd stick to around the 30mm area.

If I can be any help with prices of info just let me know.
